
ADMISSIONS CRITERIA (PRESCHOOL)
Applicants will be screened through a meeting with parent and the Preschool Director.
Birthday cutoff date is September 30.
ADMISSIONS CRITERIA (GRADES 1–12)
Student must demonstrate an ability to maintain a C average or above in academic subjects.
Applicants for grades 1-4 must present a composite achievement score on a nationally-norm standardized achievement test at the 50th percentile or higher. Test results within the last 12 months are acceptable.
Grades 5-12 will be required to be tested at the Academy. Arrangements must be made by parents in advance of application. There will be a non-refundable fee of $40 for the testing.
Applicant must have satisfactory attendance for the previous academic year.
Applicant must have satisfactory behavior history and give indication that he/she desires to be a part of Heritage Baptist Academy.
Consistent church attendance for grades 7–12 is expected. A Pastor Recommendation Form should be sent to the school directly from the student’s pastor.
Parents and student (grades 7–12) interview with the administrator or designated staff person. This can often be scheduled on the same day as any necessary testing.
ADMISSIONS PROCEDURE
Assemble the following for submission:
- A completed Application to the Academy Office for each applicant.
- Include a $50 per student non-refundable application fee ($100 per family). The application fee will be applied to the registration fee if the student is accepted.
- For grades 1–12, a copy of the student’s transcript or prior and current year report cards (including academic and conduct grades).
- If available, copies of recent (less than 12 months) standardized achievement tests.
- Students in Grades 7-12 should submit a Pastoral Recommendation Form to their pastor. Your Pastor should complete it and mail it directly back to HBA. Sign the waiver at the top of the form before giving it to your pastor.
Call the Academy office at 322-6300 to schedule an interview with the administrator or preschool director.
Families will be notified of the Academy’s decision by mail. If accepted, instructions will be given as to the final procedures for completing the enrollment process. An agreements form must be filled out, signed and dated by the parent/guardian and returned to the academy office. In addition, these documents will be required to complete the enrollment process:
- Official copy of transcript from previous school
- Certified birth certificate (photocopies accepted)
- Immunization records
- Doctor Statement of Health (PreschoolK–5)
Please note: Parents must submit an immunization and physical examination record to the Academy for any child entering K5. The immunization record should be provided by the doctor’s office or clinic where your child was immunized. It should be signed by the physician or health care provider. We cannot accept the parents’ “pocket” record. By law, the student should not be allowed to begin school until this form is on file at the school.
